If you’d rather not cook in a traditional non-stick basket, you’ve got two routes. Some air fryers swap the coated drawer for a glass container. Others keep the drawer but use a coating the manufacturer says is PFAS-free. They suit different kitchens, and once you look past the marketing the trade-offs are pretty clear. I’ve…
Small air fryers are easy to find. Ones that genuinely fit a small kitchen are harder, because the basket size tells you very little about width, depth or how much space the appliance needs around it while it’s cooking. I’ve picked three compact models for one- or two-person households and checked each one against the…
Most everyday food cooks quickly in an air fryer, but no chart can tell you exactly when yours will be ready. Put the same chicken breast in two different machines at 200°C and one may well finish a few minutes before the other. A full basket also cooks differently from one that’s half empty. That’s…
Most people weighing up a single vs dual air fryer are really asking one thing: will I actually use the second drawer? If you regularly cook a main and a side together, a dual model makes weeknight dinners a lot less fiddly. If most of what goes in is one food at one setting, that…
Air fryers are fairly easy to look after, but they do need regular cleaning. Grease, crumbs and bits of food collect in the drawer, basket and crisper plate, and some of it ends up on the walls of the cooking chamber and around the heating element. Leave it there and it bakes on. It gets…
If you’re comparing Ninja vs Tefal air fryers, you’ve probably noticed that both brands sell dual-drawer models in similar sizes and at overlapping prices. They’re less alike than they look. The real differences are in how each brand divides the cooking space, how hot the machines get, how much worktop they need and what happens…
A £75 budget no longer limits you to a small basket or basic controls. Right now you can get a roomy 6.1-litre single-drawer model, and even a two-drawer air fryer, for £75 or less. The catch is that discounts decide a lot of what qualifies, so the best choice can change as prices move. Shopping…
AF400UK vs AF500UK vs AF140UK: which Ninja should you buy? Ninja sells a lot of air fryers in the UK, but three models come up again and again when people are choosing one: the Foodi MAX Dual Zone AF400UK, the Foodi FlexDrawer AF500UK and the compact Air Fryer PRO AF140UK. On paper they look like…
Are air fryers safe? They’re now a normal part of many UK kitchens, and that popularity has brought some fair questions with it. Can they catch fire? Is the non-stick basket a health concern? Does air-frying chips create anything harmful? These are separate issues with quite different evidence behind them, so this guide takes them…
Most air fryers can bake something. Whether they can bake what you actually make, in the tins you already own, is a different question. A cake that’s dark on top and raw in the middle usually comes down to things that barely matter for chips: how much flat floor space the basket has, how close…
